The Gathering Tree Eatery and Gift Shop

Located on the charming main street in Valemount, The Gathering Tree Eatery and Gift Shop is a welcoming specialty coffee shop with comfortable chairs and a shelf full of board games and interesting books.

In 2008 The Gathering Tree’s owner, Sherral Shaw, decided to open a coffee truck business selling sandwiches to the temporary pipeline workers in Valemount for the year. As she started planning and researching, Sherral’s idea grew and she soon realized her idea had evolved into a storefront coffee shop. With many years of sales and marketing and management experience Sherral felt she was ready to take a calculated risk and in August 2008, with support from Community Futures, she opened The Gathering Tree.

A year later, Sherral is now growing into the shop next door and expanding the business to include a gift shop, small bookstore, offices for natural health practitioners and a patio. She is proud that in a town as small as Valemount residents and tourists of all ages are able to find a grown up place to meet with friends and get a great cup of coffee and a healthy lunch.
