Title: One Yoga
Jaylene Paivarinta, owner of One Yoga, is a Practicing Kinesiologist and yoga teacher with 12 years of experience in injury rehabilitation, ergonomics and disability case management.
Jaylene first became interested in combing her yoga and kinesiology training into a business when she recognized the benefits of yoga to help people move out of pain.
One Yoga offers specialized yoga classes including Yoga Therapy (great for people with injuries or pain), Yoga Thrive (for cancer survivors), Mom & Baby Yoga, and Yoga for Desk Workers.
Jaylene also offers a variety of yoga workshops and an annual yoga retreat. Response has been overwhelming so far; students appreciate the one-on-one attention as well as just how great yoga makes them feel.
With three daughters keeping her busy Jaylene appreciates the flexibility that owning her own business has allowed. Still, finding time to complete administrative tasks can be a challenge and Jaylene admits it can be difficult not to spend all of her spare time thinking about the business. Her advice to anyone considering starting a business is to slow down and appreciate the value in the planning process. She explains that while it can be frustrating to spend so much time planning, the Community Futures business training helps build a strong foundation for a new business.
