     Title: Sugar & Spice Consignment

Jennifer Christenson, owner of Sugar & Spice Consignment, never imagined she would one day run a successful retail business.

After an unexpected turn of events, Jennifer found herself being a newly single mom.  She knew she had to find a way to support her family, so two years ago, with a little support from Community Futures, Jennifer opened her very own children's consignment store.

Sugar & Spice Consignment provides parents with an affordable way to dress their kids in quality, brand name clothing without paying brand name prices.  With four daughters ranging in age from 3 to 14, Jennifer knows a lot about kid's clothes - and about how expensive it can be to dress picky kids.  Her bright and cheerful store is full of quality, gently used clothing and accessories for newborns to tweens.  The store also carries a variety of new items as well as handmade baby blankets and organic baby products.

While starting a business has been more work than she ever imagined, Jennifer says it's worth it to have a schedule that allows her to keep her kids as her number one priority.  She also admits it's pretty satisfying to hear new customers tell her that Sugar & Spice is their "new favourite store."
