Community Futures of Fraser Fort George has been successfully delivering entrepreneurial programs including the Self-Employment Benefit Program since 1992, and has been counseling and lending to local businesses and leveraging much needed capital into the local economy since 1987. In addition Community Futures is continually working to mobilize our community to achieve a stronger, more sustainable future by providing our community with technical business support, technical business instruction, and business information services.

Moreover, Community Futures actively promotes; supports; assists; directs; and leads as necessary in a variety of sponsored and non-sponsored regional and community economic development and diversification initiatives, strategic planning processes, research and feasibility studies, and the implementation of a diverse range of community projects.

Community Futures of Fraser Fort George is a locally autonomous, not-for-profit organization driven by a board of directors and community volunteers who provide guidance and expertise to the organization and who together ensure that the organizations efforts are consistent with the needs and desires of the communities we serve.  The majority of the members have successful business management or entrepreneurial experience so that people who are familiar with local conditions and needs and who have a background of success in business guide the organization.

COMMUNITY FUTURES BRITISH COLUMBIA

Community Futures British Columbia was formed in 1992 by a volunteer group of Community Futures Development Corporation chairpersons from across the province.  As a grass roots organization, the Association works on behalf of its Community Futures members to access the resources they require to be effective in their local community economic development initiatives.  Working together with its members, the Community Futures British Columbia is committed to serving as a catalyst in developing and promoting strong partnerships between key stakeholders involved in the community economic development process.  The ongoing development of a strong network of partners continues to further the success of Community Futures throughout British Columbia.
